iaedp DC Metro Chapter - Founded in 2019

The iaedp DC Metro chapter brings together multidisciplinary eating-disorder professionals across the region to learn, connect, and strengthen clinical care. We offer continuing education, mentorship, and networking opportunities to support professional growth and certification. Through collaboration, referral-building, and local advocacy we work to raise standards of care and increase public awareness of the treatment of eating disorders.

Connection & Networking

Better care starts with connections. We cultivate a supportive local community where multidisciplinary clinicians meet to share referrals, case consultation, and professional camaraderie.

continuing education

We offer relevant, evidence-informed workshops and trainings that help clinicians stay current, deepen skills, and pursue CEDS/CEDS-C certification pathways.

advocacy

We champion ethical standards, public awareness, and policies that improve access to quality eating-disorder care across the DC Metro area.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CEDS?

CEDS stands for Certified Eating Disorders Specialist. It is a professional certification offered by iaedp that recognizes advanced education, training, and clinical experience in the treatment of eating disorders.

Back to the questions

How do I find a CEDS Consultant?

The iaedp Foundation provides a directory of approved CEDS Consultants (CEDS-C), and we are happy to provide local recommendations as well! CEDS Consultants can guide you through the certification process and offer supervision to help you meet requirements of obtaining your CEDS.

Back to the questions

What’s the difference between the DC Metro iaedp Chapter and iaedp National?

The iaedp Foundation sets overall standards, certifications, and international programming. The DC Metro Chapter brings those values and resources to life locally by offering networking, continuing education, and a supportive community for providers in our region.

Back to the questions

Do I need to be a member of iaedp foundation to join the DC Metro Chapter?

No, iaedp Foundation membership is not required to be part of our local chapter! However, many members choose to join both for access to certification programs and broader professional resources.
